Vi (Vodafone Idea) is offering 1GB high-speed data free of cost to select customers. The free data is available as part of a promotional offer with a validity of seven days. The new offer comes a few weeks after Vodafone Idea was rebranded to Vi (read as “V”). Earlier this week, the telecom operator also started offering free one-year Zee5 Premium subscription, starting at Rs. 355. Vi also recently announced its Rs. 351 prepaid recharge plan with 100GB high-speed data access.
as informed of By TelecomTalk, V is offering 1GB high-speed data benefit to select customers for seven days. The data is available for free and exceeds the benefits available through the existing plan. The operator is informing select customers about the free 1GB data inclusion through an SMS message. Additional data allocation can be checked from the Vi app which was earlier named My Vodafone.
It is to be noted that the free 1GB high-speed data provided under the promotional offer will not be extended beyond the validity of seven days. This will help Vi to convince the customers to choose a suitable plan once the benefits are exceeded.
Vi is not the only telecom company in the country to offer free high-speed data access. Jio often offers similar data benefits to its select customers. In July, Airtel was also seen offering 1GB free high-speed data for three days to some users.
Earlier this month, Vodafone Idea adopted Vi as its new brand identity, which emphasizes the final phase of the merger integration between the two companies that was completed in August 2018. The operator had promised a “Happy Surprise” event when its new branding was announced. Which will reward users with daily rewards for discovering new logos in the Vi app.
