OnePlus Watch Pre-Orders Started, Alleged Renders Offer First Look at Design

The availability of the OnePlus Watch is yet to be revealed, but the upcoming smartwatch has now gone up for pre-order in China. The latest development comes days ahead of the OnePlus virtual event where the OnePlus Watch will debut alongside the OnePlus 9-series of smartphones. Along with the pre-orders, a render purportedly showing the OnePlus Watch has surfaced on Twitter to suggest the design of the smartwatch. The OnePlus Watch is rumored to have an IP68-certified build and Warp Charge fast charging technology.

Chinese online retailer listed OnePlus Watch up for pre-order in the country. The listing reveals that in order to book the smartwatch, customers need to pay a deposit of CNY 50 (approximately Rs 600). As a bonus, customers pre-ordering the OnePlus Watch will get a discount of CNY 100 (approximately Rs 1,100) on its last purchase. The exact pricing details regarding the smartwatch are yet to be announced.

The listing on the site suggests that the OnePlus Watch will come with Bluetooth and GPS connectivity. Further specifications are yet to be disclosed.

The overall design of the OnePlus Watch as seen in the leaked renders is very similar to the Oppo Watch RX. It is important to point out that both OnePlus and Oppo are owned by the same parent company BBK Electronics, and were recently said to be merged their hardware R&D operations,

Specifications of OnePlus Watch (Expected)

Looking at the previous report, the OnePlus Watch will come in 46mm dial size and will have Black and Silver color options. The smartwatch will also include heart rate and SpO2 sensors as well as an IP68-certified build. It may support fitness-tracking features and may include a dedicated swim mode. The OnePlus Watch is also rumored to have 4GB of onboard storage and WarpCharge technology that delivers a week’s worth of power in 20 minutes of charging time.

The OnePlus Watch was originally expected to run on Google’s Wear OS. However, OnePlus co-founder and CEO Pete Lau recently revealed that it will come with a custom operating system to provide a better experience on Wear OS.

OnePlus is hosting its launch event on March 23 where the OnePlus Watch will be unveiled alongside the OnePlus 9, OnePlus 9 Pro and OnePlus 9R smartphones.
