Partition: My journey to ‘the place no one talked about’

Sparsh was in Pakistan’s capital Islamabad in March 2021. He woke up early on the morning of his journey to his ancestral home, more than 100 km (60 mi) away. He wore a traditional blue salwar kameez and a white turban, wearing the wound in a special way. He had seen a picture of Ishtar’s father – his great-grandfather – and wanted to go back to his village to look like him. He got into a taxi with two friends and they left. Sitting in the back seat, Sparsh was holding the map given to him by his grandfather, which was made of old memories.
