Mahindra Thar engine
Thar is operated with a total of three engine vehicles. 2.0 liter turbo petrol engine which generates 152 bhp and 320 Nm torque. And the second 2.2 liter diesel engine which generates 130 bhp and 300 Nm torque. Both these engine options are available only in four by four variants. Gearbox options include six-state manual and six-speed automatic transmission.
Whereas for its 4×2 variant, 1.5 liter diesel engine is used which generates 118 bhp and 300 Nm torque. It is offered only with a 6 speed manual transmission. Whereas the petrol engine is the same as the four by four variant.

Among the features, it gets a 7-inch touch screen infotainment system with a digital instrument cluster and Apple CarPlay connectivity with Android Auto.
